We have been looking at how we can improve access to Practice services; DoctorLink is our new online service where you can:
Access advice on your symptoms- Sign-up is simple and you can create an account here: https://app.doctorlink.com/ashvillemedicalpractice/register
The symptom assessment will ask you a number of questions to help to identify your problem.
The outcome of your assessment will direct you to the right treatment, whether emergency care, your GP, nurse or self-care.
The information you provide will be shared with our clinical team (where appropriate) and will assist in providing robust information of your problem to the required clinical team member to assess the next steps if applicable.
Due to COVID-19 flu vaccination clinics will be very different this year. We will hold 4 smaller clinics on Saturdays and the clinics will be run strictly by appointment times in order to maintain social distancing and safe flu clinics.

Saturday 19th September - aged 65 years and over only
Saturday 26th September
Saturday 3rd October

Please be ready for your vaccination with your coat/jacket removed and your arm ready for vaccinating to keep the clinics moving smoothly- thank you for your cooperation in advance
Are you a man turning or over 65
Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) screening is a way of checking if there's a bulge or swelling in the aorta, the main blood vessel that runs from your heart down through your tummy.
This bulge or swelling is called an abdominal aortic aneurysm, or AAA.
It can be serious if it's not spotted early on because it could get bigger and eventually burst (rupture).
Who's screened for AAA
In England, screening for AAA is offered to men during the year they turn 65.
Men aged 65 or over are most at risk of AAAs. Screening can help spot a swelling in the aorta early on when it can be treated.
Screening for AAA is not routinely offered to:
men under 65
people who have already been treated for an AAA
This is because the risk of an AAA is much smaller in these groups.
How to get screened for AAA
If you're a man and you're registered with a GP, you'll get a screening invitation in the post when you're 64 or soon after your 65th birthday. You can then arrange an appointment that suits you.
If you are over 65 and have not been screened, please contact the screening programme on 01709 649100
Information on the screening process can be found here
